Country star Eric Church recently discussed his problem with Garth Brooks lip-syncing at the 2017 CMA awards. After Garth Brooks beat out many artists like Church for the performer of the year award he went up on stage and lip-synced one of his hit songs. Brooks said he did this because he didn’t have his voice that night after performing 12 straight days on tour. Church didn’t like his excuse and thought he was setting a horrible example for younger artists. Church talked about how no matter what state your voice is in you need to perform or not sing at all, lip syncing is not acceptable. I agree with Church, fans come to see performers sing even if they’re not at their best I would rather have a bad performance than a fake one.
